By using SPEDGenie™, you agree to use the platform solely for lawful educational purposes. You must not upload personally identifiable student information in violation of FERPA or applicable state law. SPEDGenie generates draft educational content — all output must be reviewed by a qualified educator before use. You agree not to share access credentials or use the platform on behalf of an unauthorized party. SPEDGenie LLC reserves the right to update these terms with notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.

SPEDGenie™ Privacy Policy — Version 1.0 · June 2026

SPEDGenie is designed to extract instructional insights, not to serve as a permanent repository of student records. Uploaded documents are processed and deleted immediately after extraction. No student names, addresses, SSNs, or parent contact information are ever stored. Educational profile data is stored in your browser's localStorage only — never on SPEDGenie servers — unless you are using District Enterprise mode under a signed Data Processing Agreement.

We use Anthropic's Claude API with Zero Data Retention (ZDR) — API inputs are not stored or used to train AI models. We collect aggregate, anonymized usage analytics only. We do not sell data. We do not advertise to students.

Educational Data Notice — Version 1.0 · June 2026

SPEDGenie is designed for educational professionals. Users must follow district policies regarding student records and personally identifiable information (PII).

When using SPEDGenie:

  • Use student codes or initials instead of real student names whenever possible.
  • Do not upload information that is unnecessary for instructional planning.
  • Do not upload full IEPs unless your district has approved AI-assisted document processing.
  • Uploaded documents are automatically deleted from memory after extraction.
  • SPEDGenie is designed to extract instructional insights — not to serve as a permanent repository of student records.

You remain responsible for following your district's data governance policies, FERPA, and applicable state law.

AI Transparency Disclosure — Version 1.0 · June 2026

SPEDGenie uses third-party artificial intelligence services. When you use AI-powered features (IEP Builder, Goal Intelligence, StoryGlyph, Chunking Engine, Student Intelligence), the text you submit is processed by Anthropic's Claude API.

What is sent to the AI:

  • The text or content you enter into AI-powered features
  • A PII scrubber runs first — common identifying patterns (SSNs, phone numbers, addresses) are removed before any content reaches the AI

What is NEVER sent to the AI:

  • Original uploaded documents — deleted from memory before any API call
  • Student names, dates of birth, or Social Security numbers (scrubbed)
  • Parent contact information (scrubbed)

Anthropic's data practices: Anthropic operates under a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy — API inputs are not stored by Anthropic and are not used to train AI models. Full details at anthropic.com/privacy.

District controls: District Administrators can allow, restrict, or disable AI processing through the District AI Governance Settings™ panel.

Data entered in one browser will not automatically appear on another device or browser. Future Campus Team and District Enterprise plans may offer secure cloud storage with district-controlled privacy settings.
